Glowing Angel

[Click image above to go to full sized image.]

This tutorial was written on February 26, 2009, using Paint Shop Pro, version X.03. It should be okay to do with other versions as well. I just find X.03 more comfortable for me. You may download a free trial of Paint Shop Pro, version X2, from Corel. Any similarities between this tut and any others you may see are purely coincidental.

You will also need:

Tube of your choice. I'm using the fantastic artwork of Jennifer Janesko. You must have a license to use her work. You may purchase that license at CILM.

Animation Shop - at this time, I'm not sure where you can get this program, if you don't already have it. You may, however, save the tut as a static (non-animated) image if you like.

Scrap kit by Mirella of Scrap It Sassy. It is a *beautiful* PTU kit, called Let It Be. I have written another tut, to be posted right above this one, with the same kit.

Filters: Eye Candy 4000 > Gradient Glow, Eye Candy 4000 > HSB Noise

Font: I used WaterLily

Supplies: No outside supplies needed for this tut!

This is a REALLY quiick and simple tut, so are you ready? Okay, let's do it!

Open a new image, 700 x 700, white.

Open Flower1. Resize 200%, then 115%. Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen. Copy and paste as a new layer. Drop shadow the flower.

Add your tube. Resize if necessary, positon and drop shadow.

Open Foliage2. Resize 150%. Copy and paste as a new layer. I do this part on the top layer, so I can see what I'm working with. Position the Foliage in the top right-hand portion of your tag, so it's just showing under the flower. See my tag for reference purposes. Duplicate this layer and Image > Mirror. Merge these two layers down, and drop shadow. Duplicate this layer and move it down so there are some leaves sticking out the sides of the flower. Merge these two layers down, then duplicate again and Image > Flip. Position as you like and then merge these two down, as well. Drag this layer down below the flower layer.

Add your name. I used color #907f5e. You can add a Gradient Glow, settings at 5 - 0 - 100, preset of "diffuse," color #e2d2b1. Drop shadow your name.

Add your copyright, license information if applicable, and taggers'/watermark.

Resize your tag to a size you prefer. You can save now if you choose not to animate.

Copy your Foliage layer twice, for a total of three layers.

Highlight the bottom of the three layers. Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > HSB Noise with the settings below:

Hit okay.

Highlight the middle of the three layers. Apply HSB Noise again, this time clicking on the "Random Seed" button. Hit okay.

Highlight the top of the three layers. Re-apply HSB Noise, hitting the "Random Seed" button again. Hit okay.

Close out the top two Foliage layers, leaving the bottom one open.

Edit > Copy merged

Open Animation Shop, right-click on the desktop area and paste as a new animation.

Return to PSP. Close out the bottom Foliage layer and open the middle layer.

Edit > Copy merged

Back to Animation Shop. Edit > Paste > After Current Frame

Return again to PSP. Close out the middle Foliage layer and open the top layer.

Edit > Copy merged

Back to Animation Shop and Edit > Paste > After Current Frame

Edit > Select All

Right-click on the top bar of your animation and choose "Frame Properties." Change the number to 50.

Save as .gif and you're done! Told you, short and sweet! Hope you're having a great day!
